Fortaleza Tequila - NOM 1493

Guillermo Sauza is the founder and maestro tequilero of the artisanal brand Fortaleza, he is a 5th generation distiller and uses his grandfather's methods. He raises his own agaves in the Valley to full maturity and steams them in a 100-year-old brick oven for 30 hours for clean flavours. He only uses a tahona wheel for extraction which imparts rich, buttery, briny flavours to the tequila, ferments in wooden vats and then double distils in small copper pots.
