Tapatío Tequila 50cl - Blanco 110
Product information
£37.96
Description
Tapatío Tequila Blanco 110 is bottled at a higher strength of 110 proof (55% ABV), which gives it a punchier flavour profile, boosting the vibrant agave and peppery notes. It means that although great for sipping these flavours shine through when mixed. A highly respected tequila using traditional methods of production, made by Carlos Camarena. Great tequila at a great price.
Generations of expertise and fierce family pride make Tapatío a tequila that stands out from the crowd. This is the flagship brand of the renowned La Alteña Distillery, founded in Jalisco, Mexico, in 1937 by Don Felipe Camarena. Today, Tapatío is still owned by the Camarena family, and Don Felipe's grandson Carlos continues the legacy as master distiller.
Tapatío is crafted through an artisanal process and is double distilled to as close to bottling strength as possible, allowing the tequila to retain its natural character. Thanks to the Camarenas' respect for tradition and attention to detail, each tequila in the range is an expression of the authentic flavours of the agave plant.

Remy Newland: 'A lot going on here. Nose: Vegetal cucumber, citrus, liquorice nose. Minerals and a celery/thyme herbal note. Taste of mature agave with a nutty peach note. It coats your tongue with a rich buttery feel. Some peppery heat and a bit of salinity. It finishes with fading pepper heat and a banana, anise, and almond tease. A good balance for all that is going on in this tequila.'
Ryan August: 'This one does it for me. Heavy on the agave on the nose and palate, delicious minerality. So damn good. It elevated a margarita to new heights and is also great for sipping if you can handle the 110. This is, for me, a near-perfect expression of blanco tequila. Terralta 110 and G4 108 are fantastic, but Tapatio is the GOAT for me.'
George Nemetz: 'Nose- Cooked agave, black pepper, grapefruit, lightly floral and grassy. The alcohol is present but not dominating which blows my mind. Flavour- Cooked agave, black pepper, white pepper, a little de-seeded jalapeno, lime, mint, and olive brine. Once again the alcohol is there but dangerously easy on me. Finish- pleasant sweet heat that lasts! This liquid is insanely good.'
Cool Chile Rating: offering great quality and value for a house pour, we think Tapatío Blanco110 is pretty special, the extra strength and the flavour that comes with the higher abv means that where you would normally use 50ml per drink, you can use 35ml while still providing almost equal alcohol and all the flavour as a typical 40% abv tequila. It is still smooth enough to be sipped neat with lots of bright agave flavour and viscosity.
